Telstra, Test Lead
June 2011 - June 2012, Melbourne, VIC, Australia
Saurav’s initial role at Telstra was that of a Test Lead, working with offshore and onshore development teams to ensure quality of reporting application being delivered.
This has been one of the first instances of its kind in Australia where Agile practices have been used in a data warehouse environment. Saurav has been the Test Lead of a team that has been chosen to trial a whole raft of Agile techniques including Test Driven Development, the two week iteration and using Rally as a preferred tool for stories, tests and defects.
The major challenge in this role has been introducing a more stringent testing methodology to ensure defects are captured as early in the life cycle as possible rather than at UAT/PVT. This has mainly been achieved through a combination of early planning with the team, clearly outlining test strategy around iteration and release level testing, constant communication with the Product Owner and business , continuous focus on automation of tests and constant focus on quality of environments and data required.
