Biography

Bob Willis has held most roles in the IT industry over the past 30 years, from development, testing and training, to solution architect and database administration. In the last 10 years he has shifted his focus to IT Project Management, specialising in Agile delivery. His first exposure to Agile was while managing a Telematics project for General Motors in Detroit, MI. The delivery was being hampered by low quality, high defects, missed deadlines and low customer satisfaction. It was decided to try and use Agile techniques for delivery –delivery was very much improved.

Since then he has been a DSDM Practitioner, managed IBM’s BPM Playback methodology (Scrum-like Agile delivery) for rapid development of business processes and developed Project Management and Agile training.

Currently he is leading the introduction of Scrum into Babcock Marine, working with Agile coaches from an external Agile consultancy. He is also the ScrumMaster on multiple Scrum and Kanban projects.
