Emerging Technologies  -  Rapid Implementation  -  Profit Growth  -  Industry-Leading Products

Rick Moudy, a technology executive known for creating software solutions uniquely customized to user needs and incorporating cutting-edge technologies, has carved a reputation for R&D excellence throughout banking, trading, real estate, telecommunications, accounting, retail, finance, tax, and transportation industries.

Passionate about creative problem-solving and delivery of high-value solutions, Rick has continually integrated new development practices and technologies (Agile, Test-Driven Development, Pair Programming, Silverlight, MVC, TFS, NHibernate, 3D, and Extreme Programming, among others)—and builds teams dedicated to producing high-quality products garnering distinction among competing applications.

As the Director of Solutions Development at OpenLink, Rick’s efforts have earned numerous industry accolades, including reviews noting SolArc as a “leader in technology innovation” for providing a unique, 3D interface and distinguishing the company for its emphasis on an unprecedented user experience. By setting stringent engineering standards and coaching teams to top performance, Rick has established a pattern of leadership that includes multimillion-dollar budget authority and direction for large R&D teams.

Rick’s experience includes the launch and growth of Picasso Software to an operation ranked among the 16th Fastest Growing Small Companies in North Texas by SMU Cox School of Business, with expansion to 100+ employees in 4 years and a client roster that included PWC, GE Capital, Deloitte & Touche, Fiserv (formerly Carreker), and APQC (creator of the Malcom Baldrige Awards).

Ground-Up R&D Product Leadership

At OpenLink (formerly SolArc), Rick built the first mobile product, bringing the leadership team’s vision to reality and demonstrating a pattern of innovation to customers. Building a core team of senior talent developing a 3D product offering an innovative user experience, Rick’s work was a central force in capturing industry attention and positioning the company as a leader in the Transaction Management software arena.

Accelerated Product Delivery

In addition to driving ground-up development to release in 18 months as R&D Director at OpenLink, Rick built a development process as Picasso Software’s CTO and Chief Architect that doubly outpaced industry success rates for fixed-bid projects (ranging from $200K to $1.75M). Here, he architected migration and business integration solutions, oversaw operations budgets of up to $7M, and directed 60-member software engineering teams.

Technology Innovation

In his previous roles, Rick served as Senior Technical Lead at Valtech, where he directed a 10-member team using test-driven development, pair programming, continuous integration, and other best practices in delivering key components of a $14M student loan processing system. In addition, Rick earned technical awards as Senior Architect for Hogan Systems (acquired by CSC) for technical delivery of a banking branch automation system leveraging emerging technologies.
