Biography

Dr. Patrick Seifried

In the last few years, I have mainly worked actively on agile projects and consultancy assignments in the field of Internet, software development, telecommunications and banking. I currently work as an external consultant for 1&1 Internet AG in Karlsruhe, Germany as a ScrumMaster and agile coach, with the remit of introducing: "scrum into allocated international teams".

Furthermore, over the last few years, I have supported numerous Internet projects using my expertise and my professional network. I have designed my own Internet project and company, Translationartwork.ch, and implemented this with agile teams as well. I am currently freelance and in this connection founded my own company, ModusNext.ch GmbH in 2007.

I was born in Rottweil a. N. (Germany). From 1992 – 1996, I studied business informatics at the University of Mannheim, specializing in information technology, object-oriented programming, operations research and marketing and international management. I wrote my thesis, on the topic "Dangers / risks of an Internet solution" at Mercedes Benz US International in Tuscaloosa, Alabama (USA) during my one-year stay. Then at the end of 1997, I commenced by doctoral studies at the renowned University of St. Gallen Institute for Media and Communications Management (Switzerland) with Prof. Dr. Beat Schmid. The time spent as a doctoral student, my dissertation, "Procedure models for knowledge platforms – frames of reference and knowledge services", and successful completion of my PhD in 2001 with magna cum laude, as well as various consultancy and project orders in more than 30 companies, underline the fact that I am very comfortable in the subjects of agile project procedures (scrum), project management and business engineering.
