Peter Kunszt has a PhD in theoretical physics (lattice QCD, from the University of Bern, Switzerland). He holds a builder status in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey SDSS project, working on the science archive database during 1997-2001 at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. From 2001 onwards, he has worked on the EU DataGrid and EGEE projects at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland, leading the development efforts for the data management middleware. In 2006 he moved to Lugano in the southern part of Switzerland to the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre CSCS, leading a team to support Grid computing in Switzerland, co-founding the Swiss National Grid Association in the process. Since 2009 he is located in Zurich, managing the SyBIT project of the Swiss SystemsX.ch initiative in systems biology, addressing the data management challenges in biology.
