Michael Tang

I am a technology professional and leader with extensive experience in the telecommunication industry.  I’ve worked with Microsoft, Oracle and Adobe technologies to deliver mission critical transaction based customer care and retail sales solutions. Primary strength is in agile software development methodologies and engineering best practices such as Scrum and Extreme Programming (XP).  I am interested in supporting organizations that want to become more effective in their software development practices.

In my current role, I am supporting 6 delivery teams comprised of 60+ technologist including software engineers, software test engineers, scrum masters and system analysts in a distributed development environment. Team members and internal partners are distributed across the US and India.

In my current role, I am supporting 6 delivery teams comprised of 60+ technologist including software engineers, software test engineers, scrum masters and system analysts in a distributed development environment. Team members and internal partners are distributed across the US and India.

My teams are responsible for the support and enhancement of 6 front-line systems used by T-Mobile's award winning customer care and retail sales associates. Half of the systems are mission critical and service over half a million transactions a day ranging from credit card payments to customer order inquiries.

Highlights:

• Leading execution of top company initiative to modernize technology platform for mission critical legacy customer care system from Microsoft to Adobe technology stack.
• Managing top internal department initiative to deliver knowledge management system and capabilities to enable efficient on-boarding and retention of intellectual property.
• Maintain and support vendor relationship with class-leading companies like Adobe, Solutions IQ, Universal Mind and others.
• Recipient of the "CIO" award for significant contribution and technical leadership in the delivery of 2 strategic initiatives in 2010 that resulted in a reduction of customer debt, increased EBITDA and a new line of branded service (FamilyMobile) with #1 Retailer Walmart.
• Support continuous refinement of agile development methodologies across all delivery teams in department.
