Biography

Marshall Guillory is a career information technology professional with over 19 years of experience in various software development, operations, process improvement, program and project management disciplines.

He currently performs as the Technical Program Manager for the Linaro Networking Group (LNG), Engineering Group at Linaro. Linaro is a not-for-profit engineering organization consolidating and optimizing open source Linux software and tools for the ARM architecture.

In previous engagements, Mr. Guillory has worked as the owner of a Phoenix based agile services start-up, and as the COO for a Phoenix based managed/professional services company. Marshall also worked as the Sr. Manager for World-wide Operations at MontaVista Software, a Cavium (CAVM) company. MontaVista Software is the leader in embedded Linux commercialization. While serving at MontaVista Software Mr. Guillory led organizational process improvements for Automotive SPICE compliance, and performed roles as a Program/Project Manager and Scrum Master. He also led overall quality management, assurance and control functions for the General Motors / Bosch Cadillac CUE automotive infotainment system (MontaVista components of).

Prior to MontaVista Software, Mr. Guillory worked in the defense industry as a Director of a USAF O&M services vertical for General Dynamics IT managing an ~$8M+ per year portfolio. Marshall ran several large integrator and professional services programs as well as building a software and data center services delivery capability for the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Centers’ IT group. Prior roles as a military contractor include Director for GDIT’s Network Solutions group, Technical Director for FCBS, Inc., Program/Project Manager and Sr. Software Developer for Computer & Hi-tech Management, and Software Developer for IMRI, Inc.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Louisiana State University and is a diehard LSU Tiger fan. He enjoys college football, all forms of racing, motorcycling, cars/trucks/atv, building - everything, woodworking, metalworking, hiking/camping, travel, hunting, shooting sports, and most of all spending time with his family. Marshall is a God fearing family man and loves Christ Jesus, his greatest three creations and wife Michelle.

My career is dedicated to the study of information technology and continuous improvement. I am deeply passionate about the quality of work and meeting planned objectives. I have a strong entrepreneurial spirit and love of all things in business and technology. My faith and family are of prime importance in my life and work/life balance is critical to maximize productivity.

I have worked with computers and technology since I was a child thanks to my father and his interest. I was drawn to engineering, architecture, and building primarily for entertainment on Commodore and Mattel IntelliVision game consoles. My first real programming was on a Radio Shack TRS-80 Model 4 that my father used to write an accounting software package for his business. I wrote text based games for fun.

While I have been involved in business and technology for over 30 years, only 19 years is as a full-time professional. I have worked for both fortune 100 and micro sized businesses including owning and operating business ventures. I grew up in a small retail business that my parents operated. I always strive for constantly evaluating and increasing value in my efforts and the production capability of my teams.

I am also a strong business leader with a focus on enabling people as the keys to successfully increasing value and profitability. A driver of a results-oriented, disciplined, team management style that has been recognized to inspire loyalty, high productivity, and innovative teams.

My primary capabilities include program and project management, agile software development, Scrum/Kanban, integration, and data center/server technologies. I have a particular passion for Web design / development and strongly support various open source frameworks/systems.
