Biography

Mark has a blend of project management and technical skills gained from 18 years of IT project experience including large, complex, multimillion-pound projects with large project teams. For the majority of his career he has been in senior management roles that also drew upon his technical knowledge working with Oracle, interactive TV, web development and enterprise systems. Mark is an experienced Agile project manager and manages multiple project teams delivering solutions with open source software.

Responsible for: customer communication, best practice, resourcing, planning, managing scope and budget as well as day-to-day ScrumMaster activities.

Sodexo, Project Manager

Sodexo is recognised as one of the worlds leading outsourcing companies.  SodexoPass provide vouchers and motivation services in the UK.  In late 2007 Sodexo acquired SalesPrize, a Belgian company producing a web based motivation and rewards solution.

 

Project managed the integration of the platform based at Sodexo Belgium with UK IT systems at SodexoPass and the associated sales, marketing and finance activities for the new product launch.  This included integration to CRM, Finance and Production systems. 

Miniweb Interactive Ltd, Project Manager

Miniweb Interactive was created when BSkyB sold the software platform they had developed to enable existing web content, infrastructure and assets to be repurposed and deployed onto Sky television.  Miniweb’s goal was to further develop the platform to include distribution onto any network or device making it economical for a wide range of video content to be shown on TV.

 

Managed multiple project streams including platform migration, hosting, office setup and rebranding and product development.

BSkyB, Integration Test Lead / Project Manager

Project SkyNet was a portal available to 20 million Sky TV viewers from their set top box Interactive menu.  Its aim was to dramatically expand the number of interactive TV sites whilst lowering their cost compared to red button services.  The platform provided tools that allowed anyone to host web content in an open standards format that could then be accessed by dial up connection from the portal on broadcast TV.

 

Key technical management role offering unrivalled knowledge of the end-to-end system and all hardware and software components to the project.

Mark trained as a consultant specialising in Oracle technology.  He worked on various bespoke projects for 11 years including full lifecycle projects.  He gained considerable team management experience, including offshore teams in Europe, India and the U.S. Mark was highly regarded internationally as an Oracle Tools expert.
