Michael Achilles is a technologist with over 18 years of experience in software engineering, analysis, design and project management. Over the last 10 years, Michael has logged over 17,000 hours managing project teams across four continents.
As a technologist, he has worked his way up through the software development life cycle as a developer, analyst, architect, project manager and technical director. Being hands on, he also actively participates in technical architecture discussions, code reviews and assists in database design and performance tuning efforts yet he also manages and maintains project charters, budgets and resources. Michael's experience includes the full software development life cycle using a variety of project management methodologies including waterfall, RUP and scrum based Agile processes across numerous platforms.
As an expert in software engineering, Michael is called upon to either kick off software engineering projects or most recently to get them back on track. He has had enormous success in managing teams and projects for both large and small initiatives using on and offshore teams. He also prides himself in his ability to get things done, manage well and relate to the stakeholder community at large. As you will see below, he has managed his career to be an expert in software engineering and thus has also gained extensive domain knowledge and experience in education, healthcare, finance (equities, bonds, mutual funds and derivatives), utilities, insurance, publishing, human resources and the government sector.
