Biography

Luyu Yang(Louis), Agile and Scrum coach, co-founder of ScrumCN.com.

Louis has more than 10 years experience in the softare development area, worked as Architect, Development Manager, Product Director and Consultant etc. Since 2008 he implemented Scrum and XP practices in his team and successfully transferred the organization to be Agile at large scale.

Louis started teaching Scrum and Agile product management in China from 2010, as well as offerring consulting and coaching service. He is also an active speaker at conferences like Agile China, ScrumGathering Shanghai etc, and at other different events.

Louis contributed in translating the Chinese version of <Succeeding with Agile: Software Development Using Scrum> (Mike Cohn, 2009) and <Agile Software Requirements> (Dean Leffingwell, 2011).

ScrumCN is a dedicated Agile/Scrum promotion and service provider. We organize CSM/CSPO classes, in collaboration with CSTs world wide, as well as offering on-site training classes with local trainers. And we also provide consulting and coaching services. As the chief consultant, I get involved in critical projects servicing key clients, and act as partner with CSTs in localizing and delivering their classes in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.

Leading product design and development for GeneralSystem in the R&D center. GeneralSystem is a leading product for core business of P&C insurance. Till 2012, it has more than 30 installations in over 10 countries, 4 continents. Worked first as development manager, then product director, I promoted and implemented Agile/Scrum in my organization, covering 200 people in the platform team, core product team, product management team, implementation team. A typical Agile project using Scrum happens at middle 2009 to end 2010, which involves more than 6 scrum teams to develop the GeneralSystem3.3 in wide collaboration. I was the overall leader and Agile coach, and also run the Scrum of Scrums in daily work. Another typical Agile project was in 2011 to 2012, implementing the product for Argo Insurance of San Antonio, Texas, in which I acted as the coach and chief product owner.
