I have lived and worked in Melbourne, Australia with my first 'real job' commencing work in a business unit within a General Insurance company in early 1990.
With a very definite and growing interest in both technology (and what it could do for my company's business) and an equally strong desire to improve the company's function, I naturally gravitated to a Business Analyst role working through mid size to large projects across regulatory, compliance, web based and transformational projects.
Having accumulated skills as a BA over 14 years, I took the next natural step into Business & Systems Analysis Competency Manager to formalise learning & development for the BA role and to implement standards and processes within that organisation.
Following a further 3 years in the Competency Manager role, I sought a chance to take a break and to rethink my career.
After this short break (and with a continued belief that there was opportunity to continue to reshape the role of BA), I started back in a BA practitioner role in Australia's largest Private Health Insurance company in mid 2010.
Approximately 8 months into the new role, I accepted a position as a Business Analyst Team Lead with a specific focus in the Digital domain.
With this new focus and a continued desire to improve business effectiveness and operation, the next natural step was to expand on earlier personal development experiences (as a BA in Agile deliveries) and add a new dimension to this through Certification as a Scrum Master.
Outside of working hours, I enjoy spending time being with and travelling with my wife and twin daughters.
