Larry Coates has been involved in the hardware and software engineering fields since 1972. Currently Larry works for CSC and is currently assigned at the John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Volpe is a Part of the US Department of Transportation's Research, Innovation, Technology Administration. Larry's current work is focused on modeling software used in the analysis of sound and environmental issues for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Larry is one of the Co-chair leaders of the Agile Development Speical Interest Group at Volpe. In addition Larry is an active member of the Agile-Boston User's Group and a member of the Agile Bazar. Larry currenlty holds Scrum Alliance certificates for the roles of Certified Scrum Master as well as Certified Scrum Product Owner.
In the past Larry has worked on a wide variety of software engineering projects both as a corporate employee as well as an entreprenuer of his own consulting company.
Larry is also a PMI Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and holds a BS degree in Management from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts where he graduated with honors in 1980.
