Biography

Kevin Ker CSM

An ISTQB, CSM and ITIL certified professional with over eight years of experience in supporting a variety of Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) test projects for the Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs.  Experience includes resource management, test team management, requirements analysis, testing (functional, integration), test reporting, as well as software and employee training.  Well versed in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).  A motivated team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Vistronix, IT Resource Manager
February 2013 - Present, , VA - Virginia, United States

·         Co-Manages a pool of resources (30+ employees) within a Matrix organization.  Allocates and Deploys resources on a per project basis.  The employees perform Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) testing on software used to create Passports and Visas for the Department of State (DoS), Bureau of Consular Affairs.

·         Directly and administratively supervises the professional performance of the matrixed staff.

·         Constantly communicates with project leads and testing resources to ensure needs of both are being met.

·         Continually improves staff selection and coordination of resources for specific assignments.

·         Maintains a comprehensive resource planning schedule to forecast and track staff availability and assignments.

·         Forecasts potential resource shortages and recommends alternative solutions.

·         Proactively works with project leads to plan and prioritize assignments and mitigate unforeseen testing emergencies and staff absences.

·         Managed a team of 4 - 7 employees performing IV&V testing on Domestic Visa applications ( approx. 30) provided by the DoS, Bureau of Consular Affairs.

·         Led daily SCRUM stand-up meetings with team.

·         Established and maintained relationships with configuration management, multiple software development groups, and deployment teams to support and coordinate the transition from software development to IV&V and from IV&V to deployment.

·         Collaborated with analysts, developers, and system stakeholders throughout all phases of the SDLC.

·         Responsible for deliverables, including IV&V test plans, service request plans (SRPs), and test reports.

·         Reviewed and ensured the quality of all deliverables created by team members:  project plans, test plans, test reports, and email communications.

·         Maintained an IV&V test schedule for concurrent test efforts and communicated the schedule to government, contractor, and internal personnel.

·         Ensured all IV&V processes are followed consistently internally and communicated to external parties.
