For over 15 years, Jim Ownby has been immersed with the people and the technology of the IT world. From help desk and networking to designing and developing enterprise solutions for a wide range of company sizes and industries, Jim has been involved with almost all levels of an IT organization. Through these experiences, commonalities in challenges appeared through several solution development efforts. These commonalities brought the Agile concepts to Jim's attention, particularly where Scrum could reduce project risk in key stages of development. Bringing Scrum and Agile development methodologies (XP, TDD, Development-by-Contract) into the project specification and design process eventually provided the right solution in a timely fashion for business needs. Renewed business focus and better domain understanding mark some of the early successes from this concentration. Longer term flexibility to risks when business needs changed was a measurable benefit over time.
