Electronic Eligibility Enhancement for GT

Duration July 2010 to Sep 2010 and 2010 Dec -2011 February

Client- A health Care client

It was a re-engineering project to improve the flexibility of the system foreseeing the future scope. Group Tape is a terminology which is very much connected to member eligibility processing. Group tape is a methodology to process the member eligibility in WGS system. Totally there are 1700+ GT clients in the system and eligibility is processed through various customized GT processes.

Re-formatting, enrollment data validation, Database update and Report generation are the main process in GT stream.  The objective of EEE is to come up with new unique methodology to process the eligibility data for the group tape clients. EET will provide a new flexibility to user to submit the mainframe GT jobs through java friend end using a dynamically passed date field. Few new screens are introduced to see the execution statues pass the effective date field.  Once the EET changes are implemented, all the future clients will be processed using the new stream and all the existing clients will be migrated to the new stream. This migration will happen gradually.

State of Maine Split Billing

Client- A health Care client

Duration 2010 Sep –2010 November

The State of Maine has awarded Anthem their Medicare retirees and +65 dependents which comprise 7,000 total covered lives. The current membership/billing system must be restructured for State of Maine Split billing.

For state of Maine currently the premium is processed manually and hence human effort is invested more on this. For SOM members, premium is prorated and responsibility is there for both state and member. Unlike existing bill sources, SOM bills should be treated and prepared and in sub bill entity and hence the new concept of spilt billing process will be introduced when state of Maine members are moved to Anthem business. Going forward, state and member sub-bill entities will be added as two separate entities under a master bill entity and user will get the flexibility to split the rate among these two sub bill entities.

The server connected to the various workstation clients is a mid-range server that cooperates with a mid-range database.

The mid-range database allows the mid-range server to check incoming requests against other requests being processed by the system. If the request does not repeat or conflict with a request undergoing processing by the system, as noted by the mid-range database, the request is transferred to a staging database, connected to a universal server.
