Joe Gaber has enjoyed a highly varied carrier after graduating from the University of Oregon in Finance. During college he started his first business, which was an outdoor adventure tour company that grew to one of the largest of its kind in the western US. This is also where he first learned computer programming. Joe needed to automate his operation so, he bought a computer and self-taught himself programming in a relational database. After selling this company, Joe joined a new start-up stock brokerage firm and became a series 7 licenses broker, and later joined Dean Witter. Once again, after the tremendous success Joe had creating his own custom software for the tour company, he began writing applications for the investment management business. This quickly turned into a company where it grew to 18 programmers. Joe sold that company to a publicly held company. This led to him becoming a full-time solution architect and development manager at frims ranging from small to very large working on projects from small web to large enterprise. Joe now lives in Thailand and works at a small, .Net software development company. Joe also enjoys mountain biking, rock climbing, whitewater kayaking, snowboarding, and gardening.
