Biography

As Director of the Information Management Systems and New Media for Advancement at Dartmouth College, Judy Doherty is responsible for leading and managing a team of professionals who provide information, systems and technology support services required to advance the goals and strategies of Dartmouth's Development and Alumni Relations professionals.

In January of 2014, the IMS & New Media Team completed its multi-year project to upgrade of Advance from 9.5.1 to 9.8.1, completed the leap to Advance Web, and the implemented Oracle's Data Warehouse solutions for reporting (replacing legacy PowerBuilder and InfoMaker reporting solutions). Judy remains an advocate of the use of ADVIZOR, a powerful in memory data visualization application that was first adopted by Dartmouth in 2006. Under Judy's leadership, Dartmouth has also successfully replaced the Harris Connect application with the iModules Encompass suite of applications, serving 77,000 alumni with robust online directory and career networking services, online giving, event registration and email marketing services. Dartmouth is in the process of training hundreds of class, club and affiliated group volunteers on how to use the content management, email marketing and event features of iModules.

Judy serves as the primary advisor to the leadership of Development and Alumni Relations on the use of new media and interactive technology to support improved outreach, marketing, communications and participation in fundraising and alumni engagement programs. Judy is a member of the Advancement Management Team and manages the division’s relationship with internal and external technology partners. Judy has been at Dartmouth College for 9 years. Prior to that, she enjoyed a 15 year career at Colgate University as a member of the IT Management Team, where she implemented the Banner suite of applications, supported the migration from VMS Mail to Exchange, supported the implementation of Blackboard, and managed a variety of support services, including the Student Technologies Team.
