James Crockett: I first encountered iterative development through involvement in projects run using the Rational Unified Process projects. I found the premise of cyclical development, rapid adaptation and constant process reflection compelling, but I was often frustrated by the highly orchestrated ceremonies and documentation demands of RUP. I began exploring Agile SDLC alternatives, and this investigation quickly led to SCRUM. I consider the role of SCRUM Master to be more a component of quality than project management. In my present I try to meld SCRUM with appropriate aspects of Lean/Six Sigma.
