iHerb Inc, Software Project Manager/SCRUM Master
March 2012 - December 2013, Irvine, CA, United States
I was hired as a SMP. The software section was already operating on an Agile methodology so I began to look into Agile forms to apply. College only taught me waterfall so Agile was a bit foreign to me. The military also was an adopter of waterfall so my entire Military career was lost in creating software that no one wanted. I quickly fell in love with Agile and had determined SCRUM was the best frame work for our department to thrive in. Using this frame work I became the SCRUM Master and appointed people by definition of SCRUM to Product owner positions for each of our three SCRUM teams. 3 teams is a lot of work, on the other hand I am really enjoying the position.
US Air Force, Software Engineer
January 1999 - December 2011, Randolph AFB, TX, United States
In the military I served as a Programmer, a Software Team Lead, Business Anaylist, Tech Writer, Web Designer and then finaly a Software Project Manager. While I was in I got an AS in Computer Programming, a BS in Game and Simulation Programming and an MS in Master of Project Management. I was medically discarged due to a back injury at 13 years of service.
