Ian Davies - Certified Scrum Master and Certified Scrum Product Owner
My name is Ian Davies and I have worked in web development for over 10 years since graduating from the University of Greenwich in 2004. During this time I have held numerous roles starting as Junior Dev before moving up “through the ranks” to middleweight dev, senior dev, Technical Director and finally Scrum Master. I was introduced to Agile in 2011 when I was leading a team of developers for Cosmos Holidays by the new Head of Web Development. I’d heard of Agile but had never really practised it previously having dismissed it somewhat as it sounding like common sense. I look back now and realise how wrong I was!
Having now worked using Scrum in multiple organisations I can see the huge benefit this brings. I’ve found productivity within the team to be much higher, code/features are delivered sooner and on-time and the biggest benefit I’ve found is that the scrum team and the business are brought closer together to work towards a common goal.
I certified as a Scrum Master with The Scrum Alliance and will be adding my Certified Product Owner course in July 2014.
I currently work as a contract Scrum Master through my own Company – Get Some Pixels Ltd. My mum thinks I play rugby…. bless her
When not in work I am a devoted father and husband to Lindsay, Freddie and Jessica and also play cricket for the might Hartley Country Club Cricket section.
