Biography

Gunther Verheyen (1970) has been in IT and software development since he graduated in 1992.
His Agile journey started with eXtreme Programming and Scrum in 2003. Through years of dedication, working with several teams and organisations doing Scrum, Gunther became the driving force behind some large-scale enterprise Agile transformations as from 2010.
Gunther currently partners with Ken Schwaber, Scrum co-creator, at Scrum.org. He directs the 'Professional' series of Scrum.org and is co-developing Agility Path, a framework to improve an organisation's Agility.
Gunther is the author of the highly appraised “Scrum - A Pocket Guide (A Smart Travel Companion)", that was published on November 4, 2013.

Proxis.be is the leading Belgian e-commerce site where I was responsible for back-office management, holding the departments of logistics, helpdesk, and all related IT-software and automation projects. As a director I co-wrote the business plan to help Proxis survive the dark days of Internet commerce (2000-2001).
