Biography

Devakrishna Naidoo has more than 8 years of work experience in the IT industry having occupied various positions across a wide range of areas such as consulting, business analysis, business process optimization/re-engineering, business development, project management, customer support, strategic planning and risk management/mitigation. Deva has worked in the online backup industry for a few years as a Delivery Manager/Project Manager. He also worked in an industrial production environment, mainly in the marine and seafood industry. Deva’s interest lies in agile methodologies and project management. He is recognised as an effective communicator, scrum master and facilitator. Deva has also proven record of being an excellent leader and trainer. Working in an agile environments, has helped Deva sharpen his skills as a scrum master with effective results in the adoption of scrum as a software development methodology. Deva is a soccer and car enthusiast. Always ready for a chat on the EPL or Formula 1. He also does some photography when time permits and is a registered online translator, enjoying getting his hands on some translation work from time to time.

SMSMT is a consultancy firm operating in major Australian cities. Melbourne is the head office with just above 500 consultants over a total of about 1500 consultants spread across the other offices. I have been working for SMSMT for the past 3 months as a consultant, with a focus on agile delivery projects.

SOS Online Backup Ltd, Partner Delivery Manager

SOS Online Backup is a privately owned software development company. SOS is specialized in selling its own online backup application and also undertakes customization projects for partners. As a Partner Delivery Manager, Deva was responsible for the planning, directing, and coordinating activities needed to deliver systems and product solutions and associated technical support services that help meet strategic business and ongoing operations objectives. Projects delivered to partners increased from 3-4 to 12-15 projects a month with the setting up of the Partner Delivery Team (PDT). The team would consist of 6 developers/configuration engineers and 2 project coordinators. PDT would work directly with partners to deliver their own fully integrated white labelled online backup solutions. Deva also fulfilled the role of portfolio account manager for major partners, responsible for relationship management and release schedules.
