Biography

Douglas Klugh is an Agile Coach with over twenty years of software industry experience. He has led the adoption of Agile strategies, processes, and methodologies by Fortune 500 companies to deliver both application and system software. Doug’s experience includes leading the development of enterprise (software) systems for the banking and securities industries, along with delivering system software in the semiconductor industry. His work has impacted some of the world's top brands including Intel, IBM, Bayer, Wells Fargo, Bank of New York Mellon, Fiserv, and GoDaddy.com to name a few.

While holding several certifications in quality and software process, Doug has provided leadership in project management and Agile software engineering practices utilizing Scrum and the Rational Unified Process (RUP). As a Certified Agile Specialist, he is sharing his expertise through user group presentations, coaching, training, and blogs. Doug has also helped to establish and lead local and global user group communities to promote the adoption of Agile development methodologies. His accreditations also include certification within numerous software engineering disciplines.

Today at Intel, I am helping to deliver major upgrades to Intel® Smart Response Technology and Intel® Rapid Storage Technology products for both client and enterprise server solutions. While leading the adoption of Scrum in the CCG Software Engineering (Intel Architecture) group, I am responsible for coaching, training, and mentoring ScrumMasters, Product Owners, and team members in delivering application and system software to align with the production release of new chipsets. As the Scrum process owner for our organization, I initiated a strategic shift in program planning to align with Agile principles. I am also facilitating a Scrum of Scrums to coordinate numerous inter-team dependencies and facilitate continuous release planning for six development teams.

This web-based solution is providing decision support capabilities, trend analysis, forecasting, and monitoring of key business performance metrics relating to Internet domains and Internet domains secondary markets. Responsibilities included designing, implementing, and managing Agile processes, creating and executing project plans, managing life-cycle activities, monitoring progress, promoting team collaboration, resolving conflicts, providing constructive feedback, and ensuring the project remains on schedule. Responsibilities also included review of application architecture and implementation to ensure efficiency, reliability, and maintainability, along with administration of change management processes.
