Brian Bruton began his career with 10 years experience in Electrical Engineering duties for small companies. These included Bremson Data Systems and Beston Electronics. During these years an interest developed in software engineering and so began a transition into the software development disciplines. The first real software development job was for a small company in Overland Park, Kansas named "RealShare" where Assembler and C programs were written for a high tech check processing company. The next step in the software development journey was with a medium sized company in Lenexa KS named, "Tallgrass Technology". The Tallgrass business failed and so prompted a move to AlliedSignal in Olathe Kansas where Fortran programming was a precursor to Oracle database programming. During the 16 years journey at AlliedSignal, thanks in part to Gary Burrell and Chuck Saunders, Oracle application development was the primary focus. Classes were taken from the local college to embellish programming skills. While at Allied Signal, the role of software development Teamleader was achieved and maintained for years. Employed at Garmin International as an applications developer in an Oracle Applications (EBS) shop for 10 years. Currently engaged as an Oracle Application Developer for Burns & McDonnell doing process improvement work on the software development processes.
