Alexander Tarnowski is a developer, who’s passionate about craftsmanship, quality, and testing. He has more than a decade of experience in software development, while having worked in related fields such as architecture, project management, and testing. Over the past few years, he has been working with various aspects of test automation and activities that nowadays are grouped under the umbrella of continuous delivery.
He runs a book review site and has appeared on a couple of Swedish and international conferences.

Alexander was part of of a Scrum team that delivered software for automated provisioning of VPNs. His job was mainly system development in Java. He's also worked with activities related to continuous delivery, such as automated deployment, database versioning, test automation, and build environments.

Alexander worked in the operations team. Most of his time was spent in a migration project, which was about moving the systems to virtualized ones in another location, changing storage, upgrading the application servers, swapping out some integrations, and adapting the application to the new environments. He's role was that of the application expert, but he also worked with lower-level configuration at the application server and operating system level.
The last months of his contract, he spent documenting and analyzing business rules and functionality in the areas of payments and printing.

Alexander shouldered the role of application expert and system developer in a newly formed Scrum team, where he strongly contributed to the introduction of test-driven development, automated testing and continuous integration.
