Biography

Amanda OteroI am a Quality Assurance professional, and have been in the software industry since 1997.  I love working in Agile shops. With experience ranging from small start-up companies to large corporations, I have found agile to be the most effective way to approach the many varied issues of product development, and will never go back to the 'old way' of doing things.I've built QA teams and process from scratch at a small, XP, RoR, Bay Area startup, and acted as a Scrum evangelist at large corporations transitioning to Agile/Scrum development model after years of following waterfall practices. After dropping out of a PhD program in Mathematics at University of Washington in the late 90's, I found my self in the center of the dot com boom, and jumped in.  I started as a tester, and found QA to be a great fit for my training in logic and combinatorics.I love continuous improvement of both product and process, and the open ended possibilities in true Agile shops.
