.NET Developer/Kentico CMS

Scrum Alliance, a nonprofit professional association, is seeking a Kentico CMS / ASP.NET Developer to join our web team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience working within Kentico CMS. This individual will serve as a technical go-to for everything on the Kentico system. The Kentico CMS / ASP.NET Developer will work as part of a Scrum team from his/her own home office initially, and therefore must be a true self-starter. This position does require occasional travel. Core work hours are Monday-Friday from 9:00amCT – 5:00pmCT. This is a contract to hire position. 


  • Technical go-to for Kentico system needs
  • Develop within the Kentico system, new features and functionality
  • Troubleshooting incorrect or otherwise undesirable behavior and implementing corrections as needed
  • Coding and testing code with user experience mindset
  • Works closely with member services, can ask the right questions of non-technical staff
  • Be responsible for and attentive to system (hardware and software) outages
  • Wear many hats, this is a small team
  • Work closely with the product owner to ensure effective feature delivery, realistic estimates, and overall excellence in technical work. Design and develop core, reusable components. Produce results and expected deliverables in an agile environment with short delivery time frames.
  • Additional duties may include serving as the team’s ScrumMaster

Desired Skills and Experience


  • Extensive background in C#, ASP.NET, and JavaScript development
  • HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript libraries (ex. responsive design with Bootstrap and JQuery)
  • Developer experience with a CMS is a must have
  • Background developing enterprise solutions within Kentico CMS  is a bonus
  • Significant experience with agile software development methodologies, specifically the Scrum framework, continuous integration, and test-driven development
  • CSM or CSD certification a huge plus – Not necessary, but must be willing to obtain
  • 5 or more years of experience in the software industry including working on self-directed work teams
  • Possess a user interface aesthetic sensibility
  • Needs to be flexible, this is not just coding; needs to be able to troubleshoot technical issues and be able to explain and fix them
